In Autodesk Infraworks, bookmarks are a great way to organize your model to show the various views you wish to portray when presenting it to project stakeholders.  However, upon opening the model, the default view reverts to the entire extents, forcing you to manually set your initial view each time by choosing your desired bookmark.

Well you can actually set our initial view to be whatever you choose, very easily, by following these simple steps:

  1. Set the view to your desired location or bookmark
  2. Hover near the View Cube in the upper left of the screen and choose the pull down Context Menu. 
  3. In the pull down menu choose “Set Current View as Home”

That’s it!  The next time you start Autodesk Infraworks and open your model, your initial view will be set to your desired location.
