Updating the ZEB Horizon Firmware

Like all hardware and software solutions this day and age, FARO continues to improve their products. This means applying the most recent updates on a regular basis, whether your unit is working as it should or you’re troubleshooting an issue. Best practice for any technology is being up-to-date!

Tips & Tricks

  • if you’re unsure whether the datalogger is a Generation 1 or Generation 2, click here to reference the difference and make sure to download the appropriate firmware updates
  • make sure the USB stick used to update is empty
  • using the USB Prepare Tool to take off all scan data and log files prior to updating is a good idea to prevent any loss of data that may not have been downloaded yet (find more about the USB prepare tool and how to download data and log files from the ZEB Horizon here)
