With this little step by step process you’ll see how to create a custom shared parameter and apply it to a family (titleblock in this case) and be able to control its visability.
1. First go to the Manage Tab and select Shared Parameters
2. Create a new Shared Parameter file
3. Create a new shared parameter Group
4. create a new Parameter
5. Edit family
6. Add text for Approved stamp
7. Select the browse button by visable
8. select the add new parameter (see below)
9. select shared parameter, then the select button
10. select the shared parameter that we created earlier (see below), select OK
11. notice the Visable checkmark is grey now – this means we have a parameter applied
12. load the family back into the project
13. select the titleblock see the checkmark by the new parameter Seal of Approval
14. Now you can check and uncheck for the visabillity of a new Approved stamp on your titleblock
